Es casi más un cuento largo que una pequeña novela, pero me gusta la imaginación puesta al servicio de unos pocos recursos bien usados. No sé si la autora o yo no manejamos bien el tema de la culpa y la violencia, porque matar a un montón de gente, pasa como desapercibido a fin de cuentas... O por ahí Binti odia mucho más de lo que es consciente a su opresor.
I was expecting a longer story but since I'm reading the whole trilogy (and the short story in between) I would not give my review too much credit. The story is indeed interesting and the relationship that is being established between Binti and Okwu, being the second such a different type of entity, is appealing.

No me esperaba para nada el desarrollo de la trama. Nnedi Okorafor entrelaza con maestría los sentimientos de una persona criada en una tradición rígida y su ferviente deseo de explorar mucho más allá de los límites que se le han impuesto. No suaviza las partes más duras de la historia y eso puede resultar impactante. Me ha ayudado a reflexionar respecto a que, para entendernos unes a otres, en ocasiones tenemos que hacer sacrificios y ceder. Pero merece totalmente la pena hacerlo.

there were so many fresh ideas in this book and I really enjoyed Binti's perspective, and how the main "superpower" is understanding one another.
I wasn't a big fan of the "mathematical trance" thing, idk it felt weird. If it had just been meditation, it would have been more convincing for me.

A novel and ambitious concept, but I felt it might have worked better in a full full length novel, everything felt a little cramped and under-explored in a novella.
