William MacAskill: Doing Good Better (2015, Gotham)

Review of 'Doing Good Better' on 'Goodreads'

A very interesting read, it approaches the decision about "doing good" to the others from an almost "scientific" approach (or at least pretending it).

I feel some reasonings are too "utilitarian", but still I think it was really worthy reading it and I would absolutetly recommend it :-)

Patty McCord: Powerful: Building a Culture of Freedom and Responsibility (2018)

It is always interesting to read about a company's culture, even disagreeing as in this case with many points ^______^

Review of 'Salvar tu vida' on 'Goodreads'

Interesting book. It exposes several thoughts/theories/observations that it had been in my mind for several years now, so it resonated to me a lot. I found the last section, the "diary of a mother", highly touching...

Despite that, my rating is "low" because:
I found it too "binary" and simplistic in her identification of "the main source of evil/suffering".
Maybe too redundant with the message, too repetitive sometimes...
* Despite the high value that I give to the author's experiences and opinions, and how much they resonate to me, unfortunately not a single study is mentioned to back up anything (no data, no scientific studies, no numbers at all, nothing...).

Review of 'Management 3. 0' on 'Goodreads'

It took me a while to finish reading it: I confess I got demotivated in the middle after reading some tweets from the author where he showed an amazing lack of humility (and it was not accidental). To me, that erases all the authority to talk about some topics... And that can be perceived in several places of the book as well.

Still... I think it's a good book. If you have been active and curious in the "agile" mindset for a while, you probably already know most of the references he offers, but still, it's a good wrap-up. And if you don't know them, it will probably introduce you into many interesting topics.

Wow... even if it's already a "bestseller" and I had heard very good opinions about it, I confess that it has very positively surprised me.

With some mind-blowing reflections, it's one of those books which help you to "reconnect" with both yourself and somehow with life and the world...
