José Ortega y Gasset: La rebelión de las masas (Paperback, Spanish language, 1981, Revista de Occidente en Alianza Editorial)

Translation of: La rebelión de las masas. Reissue of 1964 edition.

Review of 'La rebelión de las masas' on 'Goodreads'

Cody Lindley: Javascript Enlightenment (2013, O'Reilly Media, Inc, USA)

Review of 'Javascript Enlightenment' on 'Goodreads'

I would recommended reading "The Good Parts" much more than this one, specially for someone who has not already "interiorized" the JS "best pracitces"...

Brian Goetz, Tim Peierls, Joshua Bloch, Joseph Bowbeer, David Holmes, Doug Lea: Java Concurrency in Practice (Paperback, 2006, Addison-Wesley Professional)

Review of 'Java Concurrency in Practice' on 'Goodreads'

This was my third attempt in the last 10 years to read it... and finally succeeded, yuhuu :-D

It's that kind of book where you think: "How have I been able to work without reading it?" ^___^

I feel that even in 2019 it brings a lot of value, many things still apply.

On the other hand, is far away from a beginner-intermediate book, I would only recommend it to people who have been working with Java for several years.

Tristan Taormino: Opening up (Paperback, 2008, Cleis Press)

Review of 'Opening up' on 'Goodreads'

Really AMAZING book.

I would recommend it to anyone interested in building relationships with other human beings, no matter the type or "flavour" they chose.

Always nicely "surprised" to find so many Non-Violent Communication ideas (included the explicit ones) in so many places, for example in this book.

And even more recommended for people who feel that something is broken in the traditional narrative about how the emotional, spiritual, intellectual and sexual relationships "should happen", about what is "right" or what is "wrong", the "natural" and "unnatural" fallacies...

David Graeber: En deuda : una historia alternativa de la economía (Spanish language)

Debt: The First 5,000 Years is a book by anthropologist David Graeber published in 2011. …

Review of 'En deuda : una historia alternativa de la economía' on 'Goodreads'

A very interesting essay about the economic debt from an anthropologist perspective.

But... you really have to be VERY interested in this topic, it will be a tough reading otherwise ;-)

George Lakoff, Magdalena Mora Mallo: No pienses en un elefante. Lenguaje y debate político (Paperback, 2007, Editorial Complutense, S.A.)

Review of 'No pienses en un elefante. Lenguaje y debate político' on 'Goodreads'

Another great essay about the power of the language, the framings and the metaphors, in this case in the context of politics (specifically in the USA, though it could be easily adapted to many other countries).

Even having read it with my critical thinking in active mode, I found lots of interesting reflections and highlights to think about (I am also conscious that a good part of my morals probably matches with the writer's one).
