M. R. Carey: The book of Koli (Paperback, 2020, Orbit) 3 stars

Review of 'The book of Koli' on 'Storygraph'

3 stars

The first half of the book is very slow. The author keep promising adventures and these take very long to arrive. Then it's really fast pace and dramatic.

Es el primer libro de Corín Tellado que leo. Me ha parecido entretenido y apasionado. No me ha gustado el final.

Review of 'Making Time to Write' on 'Storygraph'

This book is packed with excersises to help you priorize your academic research and publishing it, or as the author says in short: your writing. Although the first half is excellent, I felt the second one lacked details. Most of the information seems to also be available in her podcast.

Similar structure of other books from the author and very similar main characters. Still, I enjoyed readin it. It is very entretaining and the love gension is well maintained.

I do feel uncomfortable with the fake dating idea.

It was enjoyable to read about the petty and unfair world of academia.

There was a clear lack of knowledge of Physics disciplines.

Agatha Christie: Le Train De 16h50 (Club Des Masques) (French language, 2001, Editions du Masque) 4 stars

This is a short but deep book that helps you navigate the aftermath of a miscarriage. The author talks about her own experience with some humor and then provides psycological knowledge. Most chapters end with a proposed excersise to help you process and move forwards.

Rainbow Rowell: Fangirl (Paperback, Pan Macmillan Australia, imusti) 4 stars

Review of 'Fangirl' on 'Storygraph'

4 stars

This is a story of first times, of facing moving out of home and feel the oddity, of finding your people and falling in love. I devoured almost the whole book, except the last fifth or so, because all the plots were done and it felt they didn’t need any further development. I also got a bit bored with the fanfiction excerts writen by the main character, Cath, and the extracts from the book that inspired her.

Alice Oseman: Heartstopper, Volume 4 (2021, Hachette Children's Group) 5 stars

Review of 'Heartstopper, Volume 4' on 'Storygraph'

5 stars

I found this a beautiful way to portrait someone struggling with mental illnesses being supported by their environment. I cried and I laughed and I thoroughly enjoyed the beautifully expressive drawings.

Helen Hoang: The kiss quotient (2018) 3 stars

The love story is cute but I got tired in the first half with all the sex scenes!
