I am a sucker for all of Virginia. New readers of hers might save this one for later. It is quite short, and despite all good intentions we can never really know if Virginia would have published it this way or not. As always it is full of her astonishing vision of existence. In this early work we can track some of the developments that would lead to To the Lighthouse and The Waves. The afterward overstays its welcome in my opinion. I am perhaps not erudite enough to comment on its accuracy, but I think academia's fervor for assigning significance to art can sometimes overreach.
